Job summary

Forest Solutions Inc. is hiring Field Crew Members to support daily field operations across Hawaiʻi Island. This entry-level, full-time role involves diverse forest management projects, often in remote locations not accessible to the public.

Crew members hike, plant, prune, and assist with restoration tasks while living in field sites for extended periods. Candidates should have a high school diploma or 4 years of related experience, be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, and possess a valid

Qualifications

• Requires ability to work in remote locations with limited phone service.
• Must be able to hike long distances in rugged terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have valid US driver’s license and be able to drive 4WD vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plant trees and restore forests across Hawaiʻi Island.
• Control weeds and invasive species; herbicide application training provided.
• Operate small hand-held equipment (weed eaters, pruners, etc.).
• Follow invasive species prevention protocols for gear, equipment, and vehicles.
• Repair and maintain fences; prune trees; maintain trails.
• Potentially operate tractors with mower decks or similar equipment.
• Camping in remote locations for up to a week; 3-day weekends possible.
• Other duties as assigned.
