Job summary

Fabcon in Wisconsin is seeking a general construction laborer to assist in erecting precast concrete panels as part of a crew. You will follow directions from the erection foreperson or bricklayer, perform miscellaneous tasks as needed, and operate equipment safely in all weather conditions.

A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain union membership are required; welding experience and high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow simple and complex verbal instructions.
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.
• Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms above 20 ft.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Membership to local laborers union or ability to obtain.
• General knowledge of construction practices.

Purpose and Scope

To provide general construction labor tasks, in an efficient and safe manner, as part of a crew to erect precast concrete panels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes general construction labor tasks necessary to erect precast concrete panels
• Takes work direction from erection crew foreperson or bricklayer
• May preform work of miscellaneous nature as directed by foreperson
• Uses materials/supplies in an efficient manner
• Handles equipment in a responsible manner
• Follows established safety procedures and policies

Basic Qualifications

Welding experience.

Other Required Qualifications

• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions
• Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct at all times
• Ability to work from ladders and aerial work platforms above 20 ft
• Ability to obtain memberships to local laborers union
• General knowledge of construction practices
• Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Welding certification

Physical Requirements

Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50 lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer.

Work Environment

Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles.
