Job summary

McKee in Stillwater, Oklahoma, seeks a skilled carpenter to read blueprints, measure and build framing, doors, windows, cabinetry, stairs, and trim while ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of carpentry experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a valid driver's license. Apprenticeship or trade certification is a plus; OSHA 10/30 is preferred; compensation is $16–$20/hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a carpenter or in a related trade
• Proficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, nail guns, levels, etc.)
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and building codes
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
• Unwavering standard of excellence and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or equivalent; formal carpentry apprenticeship or trade certification a plus

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine materials and dimensions needed
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials using hand and power tools
• Build and install structures such as framing, doors, windows, cabinetry, stairs, and trim
• Erect and inspect scaffolding and ladders for safe access to job sites
• Repair and replace damaged wood structures
• Ensure work complies with building codes and safety regulations
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
