Job summary

The Duxbury Beach Reservation, Inc. is seeking a Field Coordinator to manage the daily in-field execution of its Endangered Species Program, focusing on monitoring and protecting listed species such as Piping Plover and Least Tern.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of professional avian monitoring experience, including 1 year of supervision.
  • Familiar with MA Piping Plover Habitat Conservation Plan and related guidelines.
  • Able to work long hours outdoors in extreme weather; valid driver’s license; binoculars required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Endangered Species Program field activities, including fencing, signage, predator tracking, and brood monitoring.
  • Hire, onboard, schedule, supervise, and evaluate seasonal staff; process ESP payroll.
  • Perform field duties with seasonal staff and ensure adherence to DBR protocols.
  • Design and deliver endangered species program training for staff, town personnel, and volunteers.
  • Collect and review daily field data; complete weekly and season logs for permit compliance.
  • Communicate beach rules to the public and coordinate with Town of Duxbury Beach staff.
  • Oversee special projects like infrastructure installation and nesting habitat work.
