Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent to lead safety-forward field operations on our projects. You will work with the Construction Superintendent and team to ensure on-schedule delivery, budget adherence, and quality compliance while coordinating with trade partners and foremen.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of construction management experience, with a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of construction management experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a mobile environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety is integrated into planning and execution.
  • Create AHAs/STAs with Foreman for self-performed work.
  • Review AHAs for trade partners and coordinate material needs.
  • Maintain a four-week project schedule with updates.
  • Coordinate and supervise field crews and trade partners.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping, logs, and cost records.
  • Ensure QC of all work and proper material receiving procedures.
