Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Construction Technician I to perform basic inspection tasks on infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements while gaining hands-on experience under supervision.

You will conduct field inspections, assist with daily reporting and documentation, monitor safety practices, take field measurements, and coordinate with contractors and project team members to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials and standard inspection practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections and documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Strong ability to establish and maintain working relationships.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Reliability and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct basic field inspections of construction activities and installed work.
• Assist with daily reporting, documentation, and verification of construction progress.
• Monitor job site safety practices and traffic control measures as applicable.
• Take field measurements using standard tools and support data collection.
• Communicate with contractors and project team members to coordinate activities and elevate field issues.
• Follow directions from supervisory staff and contribute to inspection quality and accuracy.
