Job summary

Advanced Lining, a UFT company, is seeking a Coating Applicator Apprentice to train in surface preparation, coating, and safety on industrial projects. This entry-level role supports certified applicators and crew leads while learning the coatings trade.

The position requires traveling about 90% of the time, lifting 50+ lbs, and adhering to safety procedures. We encourage pursuing AMPP/SSPC/NACE coatings certification and offer hands-on growth opportunities in the water and wastewater coatings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to travel 90% of the time.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors.
• DOT medical card must be obtainable.
• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred.
• Interest in pursuing AMPP/SSPC/NACE coatings certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surface preparation activities including pressure washing, sanding, grinding, and masking.
• Support the setup and cleanup of coating equipment, hoses, and job site materials.
• Learn and assist in coating application processes using brush, roller, or spray equipment under supervision.
• Mix coatings and materials per specifications under the direction of experienced crew members.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE, including respirators and fall protection.
• Help with environmental monitoring (e.g., dew point, temperature, humidity).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and toolbox talks.
• Show up on time, work hard, and demonstrate a willingness to learn the trade.
• Assist in completing daily production and safety logs as required.
