Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc. Dickinson, North Dakota, invites Summer 2027 interns pursuing engineering, geology, or environmental science to join our hands-on program.

You will work alongside engineers and technicians in construction materials testing, gain field observations experience, and participate in real projects using equipment such as gradations, proctors, and nuclear density gauges. Mentorship, cross-disciplinary exposure, and leadership workshops are part of the experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related degree.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 30-50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in testing procedures and equipment such as gradations, proctors, nuclear density gauges, DCP field testing, sand cone density testing, field concrete testing, and concrete cylinder testing.
• Conduct field testing and observations of construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregate, masonry, asphalt, and reinforcing steel.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and contractors at work sites.
• Additional miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
