Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking qualified CEI Inspectors to support construction projects across Alabama. The role focuses on inspecting activities and documenting progress to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.

Inspectors collaborate with contractors, the Senior Inspector, and the Project Manager to help deliver projects on time and within quality requirements. Travel to sites is required as needed, and safety policies must be followed.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Intermediate math and geometry skills for area/volume calculations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work in progress to verify conformance with plans and standards.
• Inspect completed installations for quality workmanship and compliance.
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily inspection reports including measurements and communications with contractors.
• Conduct material inspections and testing for project incorporation.
• Prepare sketches and document deviations from original plans.
• Support project offices with earthwork calculations and related tasks.
• Travel to project sites and operate a company vehicle safely.
