AECOM is seeking a part-time Authorized Special Status Species Field Biologist for Central California, including Santa Maria and nearby coastal communities. This field-based, on-call role requires you to be local for extended field assignments and to support biological compliance monitoring on active construction projects.

You will lead protocol surveys, prepare technical reports, and coordinate with clients and construction teams while promoting safety and adherence to Safe Work Plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (biology, ecology, etc.).
• 4+ years of relevant experience with biological surveys and monitoring in central California.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check per company policy.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsabilités

• Biological compliance monitoring during active construction projects.
• Lead protocol and pre-construction surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting birds.
• Preparation of technical reports documenting findings from surveys and monitoring.
• Preparation of permit application packages as needed.
• Manage and maintain relationships with AECOM, client, and construction personnel.
• Organize project files and track project schedules.
• Promote safety culture and adherence to Safe Work Plans.
