Job summary

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Vocational Specialist to serve in Huntington, NY, within the PROS program. The role focuses on helping adults with serious mental illness achieve employment and educational goals through individualized counseling and job development.

The position requires fieldwork, employer outreach, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, with 50%+ time in community settings. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage and generous time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field required.
• Minimum of one year of related experience in mental health services required.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, required, as well as familiarity with Electronic Health Records.
• Valid, clean New York State driver's license required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide vocational services in individual and group settings utilizing evidence-based practices, including IPS (Individual Placement and Support).
• Spend at least 50% of work time in the field providing direct vocational services, employer outreach, job development, community integration, and supporting clients in achieving employment-related goals.
• Maintain a caseload of clients.
• Provide group services to assist all clients with recovery goals.
• Utilize Job Zone and Career Zone resources to assist clients in achieving employment-related goals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify employment opportunities and support successful job placement for participants.
