Job summary

LotusWorks seeks a field-based Mechanical Commissioning Trainer to mentor engineers and technicians on data center and mission-critical projects. The role involves extensive travel (75–90%), live field instruction, and hands-on startup, testing, and turnover activities.

You will train teams across L2–L5 commissioning, interpret drawings and specifications, and promote safe work practices while building competency for future leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical commissioning experience in data centers, semiconductor, or mission-critical facilities.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schedules and control diagrams.
• Experience in L2–L5 commissioning, testing, IST, and turnover.
• Knowledge of safety practices: LOTO/COHE, stored energy hazards, PPE.

Responsibilities

• Travel between mission-critical project locations to provide hands-on mechanical commissioning training.
• Embed with project teams to train and develop junior engineers and technicians.
• Develop junior personnel from initial field exposure to independent competency.
• Train across the commissioning lifecycle: L2 installations to turnover.
• Provide field training on chillers, AHUs, CRAHs/CRACs, pumps, pipes and valves.
• Instruct on interpreting drawings, equipment docs, and control diagrams.
• Teach practical mechanical testing: pressure, flow, temperature, and controls.
• Ensure safe work practices and readiness of mechanical systems.
• Develop troubleshooting competency across mechanical systems and controls.
• Document deficiencies, QA/QC issues, and turnover records.
