Job summary

AHRC New York City is hiring Full-Time Job Coaches to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving meaningful employment. The coach spends most time on the job site and gradually fades as proficiency increases.

Pay rate ranges from $18 to $21 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package. Schedule is 40 hours per week with some flexibility required. Locations available in Queens and Bronx; assignment to one borough.

Qualifications

• One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to scheduling needs (early morning, evening and/or weekend hours).
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience a Plus.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of about 10-15 clients, primarily on-site.
• Teach, assist, and support new workers using demonstrations, modeling, counseling, observation and discussion.
• Provide training and support to workers with disabilities to ensure success in their roles.
• Assist new workers with travel from home to job sites when needed.
• Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor progress and outcomes.
