Job summary

Evergreen Recovery Centers seeks an Outreach Behavioral Health Co-Responder—Peer Counselor to operate field-based in San Juan County, WA. You will respond to behavioral health emergencies, coordinate with the Sheriff’s Office, and provide immediate stabilization and referrals to connect individuals with the right services.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, law enforcement, and community resources to support high-utilizer and high-risk clients within a embedded co-responder model.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide immediate crisis de-escalation and stabilization in field environments.
• Experience working with law enforcement and community partners in crisis situations.
• Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder systems of care and trauma-informed practice.
• Familiarity with client record documentation requirements and individualized service plans.
• Proven case management experience with complex, multi-need populations.

Responsibilities

• Follows policies and ERC standards during co-response.
• Accompanies law enforcement on co-response calls and provides initial behavioral health support.
• Provides intervention during mental health or substance use crises.
• Coordinates referrals and continuity of care with community partners.
• Documents contacts and case information accurately in the EHR.
