Job summary

H2M architects + engineers seeks an Asbestos Investigator to assist with sampling, testing and inspections for asbestos surveys, mold, lead and indoor air quality. Travel is required, including potential use of a personal vehicle for site travel.

The role involves reviewing site plans, preparing reports, and managing projects related to asbestos and lead abatement, with oversight of field staff and client relationships. Flexible schedule may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have Inspector Certificate issued by NYSDOL and 5+ years’ experience.
• Current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator required.
• Current NYSDOL certifications: Asbestos Inspector, Project Monitoring/Air Sampling Technician, Project Designer.
• Mold Assessor certification is a plus.
• EPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor certification is a plus.
• Strong technical skills including field expertise and knowledge of architectural drawings.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage client relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform asbestos, mold and lead surveys on residential and commercial buildings.
• Provide project monitoring and air sampling, with on-site field protocols and daily logs.
• Prepare and review project-related reports.
• Manage asbestos and lead abatement projects, including scheduling staff and coordinating with clients and contractors.
