Job summary

The Automation Engineer at Targa Resources will support daily operations of gas plant/field automation HMI/PLC hardware and software systems to ensure reliable plant operations in the Permian area. You will work with Engineering and Operations to develop systems to established standards and implement improvements.

The role requires designing, coding, testing, and maintaining automation software, panels, and associated documentation, with travel less than 40%.

Qualifications

• Design/analysis experience with HMI/PLC/DCS systems.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and technical support for field and plant automation systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to meet standards.
• Implement modifications based on control narratives and C&E information.
• Ensure reliable delivery of functional and maintainable systems with O&M.
• Develop and maintain design standards, templates and tools.
• Determine operational needs with internal and external customers.
• Lead field and plant automation projects with oversight.
• Travel less than 40%.
