Job summary

National General is seeking an Auto Field Adjuster in the Detroit area to evaluate first- and third-party damage claims and develop comprehensive damage estimates. You will apply knowledge of policy coverage, estimating fundamentals, and regulatory requirements while guiding claims toward resolution.

This is a field adjuster position in Wayne County, Michigan. Candidates should be local and able to travel within the Detroit, Michigan area.

Put your analytical skills and claims expertise to work as an Auto Field Adjuster with National General, an Allstate Company. In this role, you’ll evaluate first- and third-party material damage claims, develop comprehensive damage estimates, and guide claims toward appropriate resolution. You’ll apply your knowledge of regulatory requirements, fair claims practices, policy coverage, and estimating fundamentals while building trusted relationships with internal and external customers. From negotiating settlements to documenting claim activity and making payments within your authority, you’ll take meaningful ownership of the claims process and help deliver thoughtful, well-supported outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities
• Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines
• Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option
• Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not have supervisory duties.

Training

Please note: You may be required to attend 2 weeks of training held in person at our Dallas, TX office.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 28.03 - 42.99 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
