Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking an Associate Archaeologist to support CRM projects at Fort Lee. This full-time, on-site role suits early to mid-career professionals passionate about archaeology, fieldwork, and cultural heritage preservation.

You will conduct field surveys, shovel tests, and excavations, with on-site presence in Richmond area Fort Lee, and assist with artifact processing in field and lab settings. Strong teamwork and GIS skills are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in archaeology or a related field; SOI qualification required.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and operate a company 4WD vehicle.
• CRM or academic field experience with independent fieldwork and construction monitoring.
• Familiarity with GPS, field mapping, Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office and Terrasync.
• Outdoor work in variable weather; ability to hike long distances carrying gear.
• Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat; ArcGIS Pro is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Aufgaben

• Conduct field surveys, shovel testing, and excavation under supervision.
• Be on-site at Fort Lee five days per week, eight hours daily.
• Document field observations with notes, maps, and photos.
• Assist with artifact processing and cataloging in field and lab.
• Follow ERG safety protocols and ethical standards on all activities.
• Collaborate with diverse teams in dynamic field environments.
• Maintain field equipment and participate in briefings and debriefs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
