Job summary

ZEISS in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support pre-sales demonstrations and post-sale application assistance for ZEISS hardware and software systems. The role involves travel within the USA and internationally (35-50%), with hybrid work options and frequent customer demonstrations.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year engineering/CS/physics degree, strong communication, and the ability to read engineering drawings, with knowledge of 3D math and modern

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics is required.
• The FAE Level 2 has all the same core requirements of a Level 1 but adds a 3 year minimum experience requirement in the role of Field Applications Engineer Level 1.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Understanding of 3D mathematics and computer programming techniques in modern scientific languages.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable presenting technical information to small or large audiences.
• Self-starter, comfortable working independently.
• Proficient at Microsoft 365 and related software packages.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultation to field sales personnel and the Industrial Metrology dealer network.
• Facilitate the flow and accuracy of technical information to the field sales force.
• Plan, prepare, and perform high quality customer demonstrations, both in-house and in the field as needed.
• Provide technical after-sales support for customers to help ensure successful use of ZEISS systems.
• Provide applications expertise for necessary project-related activities.
