Job summary

Enstall Solar Group seeks a Field Applications Engineer for the Eastern United States, with preference for New England. Expect ~50% travel (5–10 overnights/month) and hands-on technical support, product demonstrations, joint calls with sales, and field training to promote IronRidge products.

Based in the region, you will design PV layouts, collect customer feedback, coordinate training, and collaborate with Engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years related experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to travel ~50% with 5–10 overnight trips per month.
• Experience with Salesforce and Excel.
• Knowledge of solar layout, mounting and racking.
• Ability to read technical journals, procedures and regulations.
• OSHA 10 certification required.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

This role is based in the Eastern United State (Maine down to Florida), with an emphasis on the Northeast. Qualified candidates must reside in and be willing to travel throughout the region. Expect ~50% travel throughout the region, with 5-10 overnights per month. The Field Applications Engineer is primarily responsible for cultivating business opportunities through activities such as technical product application support, product demonstrations, joint calls with sales personnel, direct customer visits, and product training. The FAE diligently expands IronRidge's network of influence and leverages their expertise to continually promote the IronRidge value proposition.

• Plan territory technical sales visits, events, trainings
• Generate training reports to ensure all customer and sales engagements are being accounted for and captured
• Coordinate and provide on-the-job (OJT) training for new opportunities on the ground and rooftop
• Provide customer feedback on improvements to products and/or training content.
• Leverage professional network, coordinating training and with non-competing solar manufacturers in an effort to generate product demand.
• Organize and assist in the development of curriculum for new products/services, including reference library, multimedia visual aids, and other educational material
• Maintain records as needed and report on relevant changes in the weekly meeting to keep everyone appraised of changes in products, market trends, and code compliance.
• Regularly report on competitive landscape of region and other market intelligence
• Design PV layouts in IR and other PV design software to support Sales, Distributors, and End Users
• Accurately document application support questions and calls
• Provides feedback to Engineering and Product Teams for product development
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Three to five years related experience and/or training or a bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical installation and engineering, procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to lift and carry solar modules up to 50 lbs
• Must be comfortable working at heights, including rooftop
• Ability to travel approximately 50% of working time, with 5-10 overnight trips per month.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (CRM systems), and MS Excel and able to learn and adapt to a variety of software tools.
• Competency in solar layout, design, mounting, waterproofing, and racking for residential and light commercial installations.
• Ability to speak in public to small and large groups.
• OSHA 10 Construction required
• NABCEP certification a plus
• Spanish a plus

What We'll Offer

We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education, and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $100,000-$112,000/annually, if located in the New Englandmarket. In addition to base salary, Enstall Solar Group employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission, depending on their position. If your desired salary falls outside of these rates, we hope you'll still apply, as there may be other positions that better align.
