Job summary

ASML in Boise, Idaho is seeking an Applications Engineer to support customer transitions to new technology nodes and optimize lithography/metrology performance in EUV and DUV environments. You will analyze data, translate issues into actionable statements, and present findings to customers and internal teams.

The role offers growth into technical, project, or leadership paths, with travel up to 10% for training and on-site support across US regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or higher.
• 0–3 years in a technical/engineering/applications field.
• Exposure to semiconductor/high-tech industry through coursework/internships.
• Experience with data analysis and interpreting technical data.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, JMP, SQL or similar tools.

Applications Engineering – Creating Tomorrow’s Value: We pro-actively enable business development and drive customer adoption of a tailored portfolio of sustainable ASML solutions by applying our industry product and process knowledge in a collaborative learning environment.

The Field Applications Engineer assists in leading system performance related technical escalation, driving time to containment and solution individually, with team members and leveraging resources to ensure class leading CS Application support on advanced EUV node, including DUV & YS, HVM in US region.

Due to the scope and impact of this role, it offers you the opportunity to grow further in technical expertise roles, or project or management leadership roles

Roles and responsibilities

• Participate and/or lead projects which are aimed at supporting our customer transition to a new technology node or ramp up a specific technology node.
• Own workstreams within a larger project and able to develop and drive autonomously a project plan and chase a successful execution with regular updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Translate a customer on-product issue into a potential lithography or metrology related problem statement, resolve these issues to help them maximize the performance and use of ASML products.
• Participate in pro-actively identifying ASML applications product opportunities for our customer.
• Conduct data analysis to ensure that the correct conclusions are drawn from customers acquired experimental data and results reported to ASML and customer.
• Meet with internal and external customers to maintain two‑way level of commitment to keep all involved and affected parties informed of progress.
• Prepare technical presentations for customer meetings, provide new user support, and assists sales.
• Learn and exercise the ASML metrology product portfolio and maximize the application of ASML products & options to the benefit of the customer.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree with equivalent years of experience and demonstrated skills, or a Master’s degree or PhD in a technical discipline.
• 0-3 years of experience in a technical, engineering, applications, manufacturing, semiconductor, or related field.
• Exposure to the semiconductor, high‑tech manufacturing, or related industry through coursework, internships, research projects, or professional experience.
• Experience with data analysis and problem solving, including the ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, JMP, SQL, or similar analytical tools through academic, research, internship, or professional experience.
• Strong communication, presentation, and customer‑facing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical recommendations.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently:

$32-44

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job‑related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
