Sartorius seeks a Field Applications Specialist-(Chrom/TFF) to support downstream processing solutions in the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast region. You will translate process requirements into product recommendations, run trials, train customers, and troubleshoot to accelerate adoption of chromatography, TFF, and consumables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in application support, field applications, or related customer-facing roles in downstream processing environments.
• Experience with biologics manufacturing; exposure to cell/gene therapy is a plus.
• 1+ years of in-depth knowledge of biologics process development and scale-up for mAbs.

Responsibilities

• Support customer evaluations and translate requirements into product/workflow recommendations for downstream systems (chromatography, TFF, centrifugation).
• Execute trials, validation activities, and customer training; design and document evaluation plans and outcomes.

Join our Bioprocessing team as a Field Applications Specialist-(Chrom/TFF) and play a key role in supporting the successful implementation and application of downstream processing technologies that help accelerate the development and production of innovative therapies for better health for more people. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders across the Mid-Atlantic/ Southeast territory, you will act as a trusted technical partner, providing application expertise, troubleshooting support, and workflow recommendations that enable customer success. Based in a remote work environment with customer‑facing responsibilities across the region, you will contribute directly to the adoption and optimization of Sartorius downstream processing solutions. • Support customer evaluations, application assessments, and technical consultations by translating process requirements into appropriate product and workflow recommendations to accelerate adoption of downstream systems including centrifugation, columns, chromatography systems, TFF systems, and associated consumables
• Execute application trials, validation activities, proof‑of‑concept studies, and customer training by designing, coordinating, and documenting customer‑specific evaluation plans, onboarding activities, and outcomes to drive successful implementation
• Troubleshoot technical inquiries, application challenges, and product performance issues by analyzing customer processes and coordinating corrective actions with relevant stakeholders to protect customer productivity
• Provide application expertise throughout opportunity development by contributing technical insights, competitive positioning, and solution recommendations that improve the technical fit of proposed solutions
• Capture customer feedback, application trends, and competitive intelligence through analysis of field observations, trial results, and product usage patterns, and share recommendations that support portfolio enhancement initiatives
• Support the training and development of other Field Application Specialists and members of the Sales organization on assigned technologies and processes
• Train customers on new technologies, support initial start‑up activities, and participate in internal learning opportunities to continuously expand technical expertise
• Support Quality investigations and complaint resolution activities through process troubleshooting and technical analysis of customer applications
• Provide monthly territory activity reports and updates to management

What Will Convince Us:

• ~ Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience
• ~ Master’s degree preferred
• ~3+ years of experience in application support, technical support, field applications, laboratory operations, process development, or other customer‑facing roles within downstream process development, MSAT, cGMP manufacturing, or technology transfer environments
• ~ Experience in biologics manufacturing; exposure to cell and gene therapy applications is an advantage
• ~1+ years of in‑depth knowledge of biologics process development and scale‑up for monoclonal antibodies; experience with additional modalities is beneficial
• ~ Ability to troubleshoot technical and application‑related challenges in customer environments
• ~ Hands‑on capability to perform demonstrations, trials, evaluations, and customer training while documenting findings, outcomes, and technical recommendations in a structured manner
• ~ Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Product Management, Quality, and other cross‑functional stakeholders within a matrix organization
• ~ Strong customer focus with the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical application solutions
• ~ Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical value to a broad range of stakeholders
• ~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce, Tableau, and system control software is an advantage
• ~ Willingness to travel more than 50% to support customer‑facing activities
• ~ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Salary range is $90,000-$116,530 (depending on qualifications), plus a sales incentive plan, and car allowance.
