Job summary

LEMO GROUP seeks a field application engineer to drive design-in of our connectors and cable assemblies across the central U.S. You will interface with customers, reps and distributors, translating requirements into specifications and product configurations.

You will collaborate with TAM, KAM and engineering to address applications early in the design process. You will guide the sales team on mechanical, electrical, environmental, and regulatory requirements for RFQs and help build BOMs and part

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electronics Engineering with design, field applications or sales experience in the electronic connector industry; ten (10) years minimum experience; must have connector industry experience.
  • Ability to interpret customer engineering drawings to identify manufacturing requirements such as tolerances, critical dimensions, testing and packaging requirements, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical aptitude in Electro-mechanical products is a must.
  • In-depth knowledge of the connectors and interconnect solutions and associated market applications.
  • Familiar with the details from development to testing through to the sales execution.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and ease at convincing customers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products

Responsibilities

  • Drive design-in of existing products and define new products and customizations with customers and internal teams.
  • Identify technical requirements in customer applications and guide product features.
  • Assist sales in defining mechanical, electrical, environmental, quality requirements for RFQ.
  • Provide expertise on LEMO product lines and customizations.
  • Assist customers and sales in selecting part numbers and building BOMs.
  • Generate technical solutions and implement at customer sites.
  • Maintain close relationships with technical decision-makers and demonstrate value to sales and design centers.
  • Act as technical interface/consultant for connectors and interconnects.
  • Understand customer requirements and identify promising markets and applications.
  • Present technical/market information and advocate technology investments.
  • Provide market intelligence on pricing for custom connectors and assemblies.
  • Support budgetary quick-turn quotes and collaborate across teams.
  • Attend tradeshows and deliver technical training as needed.
  • Travel 40%-50% with sales team for customer visits.

Job description

Provides field application support within the territory by working with all sales channels (reps, distributors and customers) and be the interface between customers, sales, and engineering. This position will focus on the central region of the U.S.

Responsibilities
  • Have the ability to drive design-in of existing products as well as the definition of new products and customizations in close cooperation with our customers, TAM, KAM and our internal engineering teams.
  • To identify technical requirements in customer applications and to guide the customer in LEMO product line features to address any requirements that may not have yet been anticipated by the customer early in the design process.
  • To assist the sales team in defining the mechanical, electrical, environmental, quality requirements for the custom connector or cable assembly RFQ
  • To provide expertise on LEMO product lines, options and customizations to address specific application needs
  • To assist the customer and the sales team in selecting valid LEMO part numbers, building new part number BOM’s, performing searches for alternative components in order to provide quick turnaround on samples
  • Generate technical system solutions and successfully implement them at the customer,
  • Establish and maintain close customer relations especially with technical decision-makers by providing technical support/assistance and demonstrate product value to sales team and customer design centers.
  • Act as a technical interface / consultant for our customers in the field of connectors and interconnect solutions.
  • Understand customer requirements, technical trends and assist in identifying promising markets and applications.
  • Present technical/market information and system level value propositions to management why LEMO should invest in technology and/or product expansion.
  • Provides the costing team market intelligence on competitive pricing for custom connectors and value add/cable assemblies in all key LEMO market segments.
  • Supports budgetary quick turn quote process as needed.
  • Works with all facets of the organization from quote team, sales, engineering, product management and operations to facilitate communication on all new business opportunities.
  • Support New Product Introduction and program launch for all new programs brought forth by FAE.
  • Creates application and product training material, and/or delivers technical product training for LEMO employees, the sales channels and others as needed.
  • Attend tradeshows and sales related trade organization events
  • Facilitates technical support for customer planned events such as lunch & learns & technical presentations to design centers.
  • Travel minimum 40%-50% of the time with sales team, reps and distributors for customer visits as needed.
