Job summary

Gulfstream in Los Angeles is seeking a Field Airborne Support Tech to support AOG aircraft on road trips and in the Customer Support organization. Must be available on an on-call basis, on site or dispatched within two hours of contact.

Expect 100% travel and a compensation range of $51.07–$56.45 per hour. Final pay is determined by qualifications, knowledge, and location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) including 2 years with Gulfstream.
• A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Other abilities include obtaining a Passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification on AOG aircraft during road trips and in Customer Support.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repair duties on customer live in-service aircraft with accuracy and skill.
• Support the customer in diagnosing and resolving technical problems with the aircraft.
• Communicate effectively with customer, scheduling, flight crews, ops, vendors, and FAA documentation.
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA requirements.
• Identify and protect customer property and equipment; maintain professional customer relations.

Field Airborne Support Tech - Must be available on an on-call basis, with the ability to be on site or dispatched within two hours of the initial contact from Gulfstream. Recruiting in the West Coast Region - California exclusively.

The compensation range for this role is $51.07 - $56.45

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

Position Purpose: Perform various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components on AOG aircraft on road trips and in the Customer Support organization. Perform aircraft maintenance and perform troubleshooting and repair duties requiring accuracy and skill on customer live in-service aircraft. Supports the customer in diagnosing and resolving technical problems with the aircraft.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Must be available on an on-call basis, with the ability to be on site or dispatched on the FAST aircraft within two hours of the initial contact from Gulfstream.
2. Must be able to communicate effectively with the customer, scheduling, FAST flight crews, Tech Ops, business office, vendors, Warranty, Field Service Representatives and Hangar Ops.
3. Acts as the single point of contact between Gulfstream and the customer to correctly relay the aircraft schedule and return to service expectations.
4. Perform required AOG maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems.
5. Work independently and consistently to perform assigned maintenance and avionics tasks within the quoted or standard CMP time with little or no supervision.
6. Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.
7. Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
8. Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the customer and provide one-on-one direct familiarization briefings with the customer during the road trip.
9. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
10. Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
11. Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components.

Additional Functions:

1. Orders and receives all tooling and materials that will be needed to service the AOG aircraft.
2. Arranges the shipment of all core units and tooling back to Gulfstream.
3. Identifies required advanced troubleshooting techniques for all model aircraft with assistance from Tech Ops.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

1. Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
2. Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
