Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Field Application Engineer (Hardware Engineer) to serve as an on-site, external-facing advisor to customers, driving hardware analysis, debugging, and issue resolution across AI infrastructure.

You will work with engineering and product teams to improve the platform, develop diagnosis tools, and help customers optimize AI/ML workloads on Google Cloud hardware in data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, MIS or a related technical field.
• 2 years of debug/validation experience with CPU, dGPU, or TPU.
• 2 years of experience with technical infrastructure deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-call activities and manage CPU- and TPU-based activities in data centers.
• Diagnose and resolve customer issues; develop tools for faster diagnosis.
• Collaborate with Product, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve the product and support.
• Understand AI/ML workloads and hardware architectures to root-cause issues.
