Job description

Newberry Tanks & Equipment, a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide, is growing. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. We are looking for a Fiberglass Technician to support our West Memphis operations.

Summary of Duties

• Assembles fiberglass products with fiberglass fabric and resin materials, using product spray equipment, rollers, tools of the trade, and proper safety equipment. Uses quality control tools and gauges to ensure production meets specifications.
• Operates forklift to move and load tank products for shipping.
• Performs basic maintenance and inspection of equipment. Requests materials and supplies as needed. Keeps work area in clean and neat condition.
• Practices safe work habits, participates in required safety training and programs. Has good communication skills and ability to work with others.

Education

• Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Simple reading and arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers and reading decimals.
• Work with simple charts, drawings, and measuring equipment.

Work Experience

• At least three years of successful continuous employment in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Must have experience in making fiberglass products with fiberglass fabric and resin materials, using product spray equipment, rollers, tools of the trade, and proper safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Moderate physical effort; requires standing on for entire shift.
• May lift up to 60 lbs. throughout the day.
• Good eye and hand coordination.
• Good visual acuity in order to perform most tasks.
• Must be able to climb, stoop, and bend to get up and down from forklift truck and perform various outside activities throughout yard.

Salary: $18 - $22 per week.
