Job summary

OneWater Marine is seeking a Fiberglass & Gel Coat Technician to repair cosmetic and gel coat damage on marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and hands-on experience in fiberglass and gel coat work.

The role involves prepping, grinding, color matching, and finishing repairs, estimating times, and maintaining records. It requires good communication and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while upholding OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a fiberglass specialist. Maritime experience preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Gel Coat repair
• Additional training or certifications in marine repair or fiberglass work is preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify defects such as cracks, blisters, stress fractures and cosmetic flaws; prep fiberglass, resins, and damaged areas for repair
• Grind out defective areas and smooth rough edges/areas; shape and smooth edges to match contour properly
• Mix gel coat catalyst and spray or brush repaired surfaces; match colors; buff and polish repaired surfaces
• Estimate repair times, plan for materials, coordinate jobs with management; maintain accurate records of repairs and time spent on projects
• Collaborate with team members and provide guidance or support as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and OSHA standards
• Stay updated on industry techniques and materials
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
