Job summary

The City of Pharr, TX is seeking a Full-Time Broadband Laborer to help install and maintain underground fiber and conduit networks. This onsite role involves loading materials, operating trenchers and mini excavators, and assisting crew members to keep projects on schedule.

You will run a utility trailer, close work orders, upload photos, and help with site restoration while delivering safe, high-quality results that boost community connectivity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods, materials, and techniques for fiber networks and conduit systems.
• Understanding of safety hazards and precautions for fieldwork.
• Ability to resolve problems with sound judgment and communicate with stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral communication for inquiries and reporting.
• Ability to operate equipment and perform under pressure with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Load and deliver materials and assist with construction tasks for fiber placement.
• Operate trenchers, mini excavators and trenchless tools; support team labor.
• Assist with site restoration and quality control to meet standards.
• Run a utility trailer, close work orders and upload project photos as directed by the Fiber Manager.
• Run fiber and network cables as needed to support connectivity goals.
