At Precision Design Solutions, we design, build, and gain permits for the networks that keep us connected with the world - and we do it with people at the heart of everything.
We're seeking a OSP Designer II to support the design and deployment of FTTH and fiber network infrastructure. This is a design-forward, construction-aware role - ideal for someone who enjoys combining field insights, engineering ride-outs, and client plans to develop cost-effective designs.
In this role, you'll work across aerial and underground fiber routes, partnering with engineering and project teams to deliver designs that are cost-effective, compliant, and constructible.
We're looking for someone who brings strong technical precision along with a collaborative mindset. You don't need to meet every requirement to apply - if you have solid OSP design fundamentals, construction awareness, and real-world experience, we encourage you to apply.
What you'll do:
- Design OSP network infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Create OSP design drawing and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Conduct site surveys to gather data necessary for OSP design.
- Determine optimal routing for OSP networks, considering factors such as existing infrastructure, terrain, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.
- Participate in project planning meetings to understand project scope and objectives.
- Create project documentation, including design plans, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Identify potential design issues and propose solutions to ensure network reliability.
- Review and approve designs created by other designers and contractors.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to OSP design.
You bring:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, telecommunications, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in OSP design, with a focus on fiber optic and copper networks.
- Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Proficient in 3GIS, AGOL, and other GIS based software.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to OSP design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Why Join Precision Design Solutions:
- Competitive pay, full benefits, and growth opportunities
