Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Telecom CAD Technician to support the BAU and Long-Haul group, assisting with fiber optic design plans, permit exhibits, engineering drawings, and project documentation. You will incorporate field data, redlines, GIS/KMZ files, and client requirements into precise CAD deliverables.

Strong collaboration, ownership of work, and attention to detail are essential as you prepare permit plan sets and exhibits, ensure compliance with standards, and support quality control reviews

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years experience with CAD-related software (AutoCAD required).
  • GIS experience preferred (ESRI products).
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; Bluebeam and Smartsheet a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering markups, maps, utility records, survey information, and GIS/KMZ data.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and organized CAD drawings for telecom design plans and exhibits.
  • Prepare permit plans sets, alignment drawings, right-of-way exhibits, and engineering design documents.
  • Incorporate redlines and quality control comments in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Communicate proactively when information is missing or clarification is needed.
  • Support BAU and long-haul fiber projects through clear, well-organized plan sets.
