MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build end-to-end fiber optic networks. You will apply hands-on skills in a safety-minded environment and contribute to expanding technology for a better community.

Responsibilities include testing continuity, operating OTDR and fusion splicers, preparing splice enclosures, and routing fiber. The role requires 3–5 years of experience, willingness to work varied shifts, and outdoor site work.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck.
• Safety is a priority in daily work.
• Willing to work varied shifts with overtime.
• Experience testing and certifying fiber networks with OTDRs.
• Ability to route and manage fiber optic cables.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate testing equipment and resolve common fiber challenges.
• Prep fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning).
• Use fusion splicer, OTDR, Max Tester, Power meter.
• Fiber design knowledge, reading documentation, understanding light levels and dB loss.
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites.
