Job summary

North Sky Communications is seeking a Fiber Splicer I to join our field team. You will fuse optical fibers, upgrade cables, and work both aerially and underground with safety and precision.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of fiber splicing experience, a valid driver’s license, a DOT medical card, and comfort working at heights. We offer competitive pay and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven fiber splicing experience; minimum 6 months or 1+ year in telecom.
• Certified pole climber or ability to demonstrate climbing proficiency.
• 18+ years old and eligible to work in the U.S. for North Sky Communications.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-precision optical fiber fusing and cable upgrades in aerial and underground environments.
• Safely climb and navigate utility poles and confined spaces.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot circuits post-installation for quality data transmission.
• Ensure field operations meet industry standards and client specs.
• Document daily production, map updates, material usage, and basic vehicle maintenance.
