Job summary

VCI Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunication networks. You’ll perform aerial and underground splicing, test and troubleshoot the network after installation, and document work daily.

Qualifications

• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in telecommunications industry.
• Knowledge of telecommunications network structure is preferred.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, marking maps and keeping material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
