Sunrise Telecom, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Fiber Splicer 1 to join our telecommunications construction team. This entry-level role provides hands-on training as you assist experienced splicers with fiber installation, preparation, testing, and maintenance while learning industry standards and safety procedures.

You will grow in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to advance in fiber optics and telecom, working outdoors at various sites and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Previous telecommunications, utility, or construction experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fiber Splicers with fiber optic cable preparation and splicing.
• Learn to perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables.
• Assist with OTDR and power meter testing.
• Read and interpret basic construction prints and splice diagrams.
• Install fiber enclosures, terminals, and related telecommunications equipment.
• Support aerial and underground fiber construction crews.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed.
• Follow all company safety policies and customer requirements.
• Operate hand tools and basic telecommunications equipment safely.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and company vehicles.
• Travel to job sites as needed.

Position Summary

Sunrise Telecom, Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Fiber Splicer 1 to join our telecommunications construction team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to start or grow their career in the fiber optics and telecommunications industry. The Fiber Splicer 1 will assist experienced splicers with fiber installation, preparation, testing, and maintenance while learning industry standards, safety procedures, and technical skills.
