Vertage Inc. is seeking a Fiber Optics Technician (TECH I–III) for a 6-month contract in Fairfax, IA. Responsibilities include following detailed instructions, working on structured cabling projects, and ensuring safety and quality standards on site.

Positions require English literacy, ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to work variable schedules including nights and weekends. Training exposure across TECH I–III may occur as project needs evolve.

Formación

Salary: USD25 - USD33 per hour

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52228

Contract: 6 Months Contract (Possibility of Extension or Conversion to Full-time)

TECH I

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year work experience in Structured Cabling or industry related construction.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Able to distinguish color codes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to listen carefully to and follow instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive, dependable and exercise efficient time management at the jobsite.
• Demonstrate accountability for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Exhibit a positive attitude.
• Solid team player.
• High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to source and follow standards.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work days, nights and weekends as project requires.

TECH II

Experience:

• Minimum 2 year work experience in Structured Cabling or industry related construction.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Able to distinguish color codes.

TECH III

Experience:

• Minimum 2 year work experience in Structured Cabling or industry related construction.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Able to distinguish color codes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Know about the different materials and methodologies involved with the installation of a structured cabling system.
• Effectively manage time, manpower & materials.
• Perform pre-job construction and planning activities.
• Interface with customers on a professional level.
• Manage materials for multiple projects.
• Assist with training of Technician I & II.
• Assist customers in design and purchasing.
• Deliver assignments within schedule and budget in accordance to E2 standards.
• Preform job closeout and as-built drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive, dependable and exercise efficient time management at the jobsite.
• Demonstrate accountability for safety, quality, and productivity.
• Exhibit a positive attitude.
