Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services seeks an experienced Fiber Splicer to prepare and splice fiber optic cables within a telecommunications system. Must understand network structures, fiber optics and splice enclosures, and utilize OTDR and fusion splicing equipment. Travel across WV will be required, with attention to safety and quality in every task.

The role emphasizes accurate data interpretation, daily reporting, and maintaining equipment and work areas to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy.
• Operate OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber.
• Complete daily production reports documenting work performed and materials used.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas to comply with safety regulations.
• Lift and maneuver splice enclosures and other plant equipment.
• Work comfortably in cramped/ enclosed spaces and perform aerial work when required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret data accurately and input results.
• Operate OTDR and fusion splicing equipment for fiber splicing.
• Document daily production and materials via reports.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of tools and work areas.
• Lift splice enclosures and other equipment as needed.
• Perform tasks in confined spaces and at heights when required.
