Job summary

Liberty Electric is seeking a highly skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our Seattle-area team. You will work on existing and new fiber networks, handling innerduct, fiber cable, patch panels, splice cases, and fusion splicing from start to finish in a union shop environment.

The role requires 5+ years of splicing experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of fiber splicing experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep and fusion of single-mode or multi-mode fiber optic cables for inside and outside plant construction.
• Test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifier and scope.
• Provide field splicing activity reports to the NOC and Design teams.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FCC, NESC and NEC and company safety manuals.
• Place splice cases and manage innerduct and cable placements as directed.
