Job summary

Vyve Broadband's Commercial Fiber Tech team performs field maintenance to keep plants in top condition. This role handles preventative maintenance, repairs, and system testing with specialized equipment.

You will splice fiber, read documentation, install enclosures, and report activities. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in fiber optics and can operate OTDR, scope, and power meters in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of fiber optics experience.
• Ability to test and record OTDR findings.
• Must read optical power meters and fiber docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion or mechanical splicing of SM/MM fiber.
• Terminate fiber connectors (ST, SC, LC).
• Read fiber documentation and locate fibers in enclosures.
• Install fiber enclosures and term panels.
• Install cwdm/dwdm filters in fiber path.
• Use OTDR and scope to measure losses and identify events.
• Record path documentation and maintain asset inventory.
