Job summary

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation since 1936, is hiring Fiber Splicing Technicians for its Roanoke, TX (DFW area) office for fiber installation projects in Texas.

Responsibilities include safely fusing/splicing fiber, testing closures, interpreting technical documents, and traveling to project sites as needed. The role requires 2+ years of fiber experience and proficiency with major splicing/testing equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of experience installing, maintaining/ repairing, and testing fiber optic networks.
• Ability to fuse or mechanically splice SM/MM fiber and terminate connectors (ST, SC, LC).
• Comfort reading and interpreting technical drawings, maps and blueprints.
• Willingness to travel to out-of-town project sites.
• Able to work in confined spaces and perform routine maintenance on splicing/testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely fuse or mechanically splice SM or MM fiber optic cables and terminate connectors (ST, SC, LC).
• Install and test closures on various cable types and sizes.
• Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems.
• Review and interpret maps, drawings, and testing documents.
• Perform daily tests and maintenance on splicing/testing equipment.
• Conduct optical continuity and conformance testing.
