Job summary

Zero dB Communications is seeking a fiber optic field technician to support residential and commercial fiber builds across the Portland area. You will assist with installation, splicing, and testing of fiber networks, working closely with a team to ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel as needed. We offer weekly pay, PTO, sick leave, holidays, disability and life insurance, EAP, and opportunities to gain

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • 1+ year of fiber optic field experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license meeting company safety standards (CDL preferred)
  • General knowledge of residential/commercial construction; lead/foreman experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft applications)
  • Understanding of technology-based services, products, and networking
  • Ability to meet physical demands: climb ladders, lift 75 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude

Requirements

Schedule:
  • Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, most schedules follow a M-F pattern.
  • This is a daytime shiftwith night work as necessary.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays and nights as needed in addition to regular travel.
  • Travel is generally 10-15%, though it may increase at times depending on operational needs.

Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen, to include a drug test and an acceptable driving record. This is a safety sensitive position.
