Job summary

SRI Telecom is seeking an experienced OSP Technician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom networks, including fiber and copper cabling. The role involves practical field work, splicing, testing, and adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate will perform aerial and underground splicing, use OTDRs and testing tools, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliable network performance. Outdoor work is required, with equipment like bucket trucks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications
• Proficiency with fiber optic splicing and termination
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Familiarity with safety standards (OSHA) and PPE usage
• Capable of documenting work and maintaining records

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing and termination, including aerial splicing.
• Install, maintain, and repair outdoor plant infrastructure (fiber and copper).
• Troubleshoot network issues using OTDRs and power meters.
• Follow safety protocols, OSHA rules, PPE use, and safe digging practices.
• Document installations, repairs, and configurations for project tracking.
• Collaborate with OSP engineers, technicians, and project managers.
