Job summary

Mason Technologies is seeking experienced Fiber Installation / Splicing Technicians to join our growing field team. The role focuses on inside-plant fiber work within commercial buildings, data centers, and telecom rooms, with emphasis on fusion, ribbon, and mechanical splicing and a high standard of workmanship.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of hands-on fiber experience, OSHA/SST certification, and the ability to travel across the Tri-State Area.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional fiber optic installation and splicing experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with inside-plant fiber optic systems.
• Experience with multiple splicing methods (fusion, ribbon, mechanical).
• Experience with single-mode and multimode fiber.
• Experience terminating fiber and working with fiber enclosures, splice trays, and ODFs.
• Experience testing/certifying with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, VFLs.
• Ability to read fiber drawings and project documentation.
• OSHA and SST certifications required.
• Reliable personal vehicle required.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Tri-State Area.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber in commercial spaces.
• Perform fusion, ribbon, and mechanical splicing of fiber.
• Prepare and organize fiber in enclosures, splice trays, and patch panels.
• Perform fiber connectorization and termination with various types.
• Conduct fiber testing and certification using OTDRs, meters, light sources, and VFLs.
• Analyze results to identify loss, reflections, and faults.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and remediate fiber issues in-field.
• Maintain clean labeling and proper cable management.
• Read drawings, splice diagrams, and project docs accurately.
• Travel between project sites in the Tri-State Area.
