Job summary

VERITA TELECOMMUNICATIONS in South Bend, Indiana is seeking a Laborer to support telecom construction crews installing underground fiber optic and utility infrastructure. The role involves site prep, trenching, conduit placement, and general labor to ensure projects meet safety and quality standards.

This hourly position requires outdoor work in all weather, the ability to lift 50+ lbs, and a valid driver's license. Overtime and weekend work may be required; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Experience in telecom, fiber optic, or utility work is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• May require overtime and occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with underground fiber installation including trenching, hand digging, and conduit placement.
• Support directional drill and excavation crews.
• Perform job site setup and cleanup.
• Locate and expose existing utilities (hand digging / potholing as required).
• Pull, place, and secure fiber optic cables and innerduct.
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment following OSHA and company safety standards.
• Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and small equipment.
