Job summary

Jordan Manufacturing in Monticello, IN is seeking a Fiber Machine Operator to operate and maintain several types of machinery for fiber production. You will follow safety protocols and work with the team to meet production targets on a full-time, non-exempt basis.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read measurements, and readiness to perform daily maintenance on Airlay and Card equipment. Training provided; overtime may be required.

  • Operate and maintain Airlay and Card lines.
  • Read and interpret work orders; measure products with a tape measure.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor and escalate safety concerns.
  • Coordinate raw fiber material flow to support production.
  • Maintain forklift certification and safe material handling.
  • Perform start-up, operation, and shut-down procedures for Airlay and Card Line equipment.
  • Work closely with team to meet production targets.

Job Title: Fiber Machine Operator
Job Purpose:

As a Fiber Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining several types of machinery to ensure smooth and efficient fiber production processes. Your attention to detail, technical expertise , and adherence to safety protocols will be essential to ensure the quality and timely completion of our products.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Adhere to company policies and maintain a high standard of work ethics.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Report any machine malfunctions, maintenance needs, quality concerns, or safety concerns to the su pervisor.
  • In-depth knowledge of the safety protocols and best practices associated with the operation of heavy machinery and hazardous saws.
  • Work closely with team members to achieve production targets and ensure a cohesive work environment.
  • Verify product is within quality specifications.
  • Retrieve necessary product needed for task .
  • Read and accurately interpret measurements using a tape measure.
  • Read and interpret work orders.
  • Performs other duties as required .
  • Set up A irlay and Card lines.
  • Perform daily maintenance on Airlay and Card equipment.
  • Coordinate raw fiber material flow to support production.
  • Maintain current forklift certification to handle materials safely.
  • Perform start-up, operation, and shut-down procedures for Airlay Line equipment
  • Perform start-up, operation, and shut-down procedures for Card Line equipment
Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • No prior experience necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of machine operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

This position works exclusively in a factory production floor environment with exposure to typical factory hazards such as loud noises, heat, and cold.

Essential physical requirement s

This position requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials when required .

Employees performing the tasks essential to this position will regularly be expected to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds.

This position may require employees to work overtime, weekends, and nights depending on production needs.
