Job summary

Team Fishel is interviewing for Fiber Cable Splicers at our South Bend, IN location within the Low Voltage Technologies Solutions division. The ideal candidate will splice various fiber types, operate testing equipment, and uphold safety as a top priority.

We seek 2+ years of fusion splicing experience, ability to supervise others, and proficiency with OTDR and power meters. Excellent customer service and reliable scheduling are valued for this role. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Two+ years of experience in telecommunications or related technical fields and ability to supervise others.
• Experience with fusion splicing and optical testing equipment (various brands).
• Ability to distinguish Multi-mode from other fiber types.
• Ability to work with others and independently.
• Pole/manhole awareness; bucket truck and confined space training preferred.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Clean driving record and meet company driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cable (single mode, multimode, loose tube, ribbon).
• Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems or issues.
• Review maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents.
• Perform daily tests, checks, and maintenance of splicing and testing equipment.
• Conduct optical continuity and conformance testing.
• Make splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building locations.

Description

Team Fishel is interviewing for highly qualified Fiber Cable Splicers in our South Bend, IN location. This is anexcellent career opportunity located within our Low Voltage Technologies Solutions division.

Fiber Cable Splicers will be responsible for completing projects safely, on time, and meeting and exceeding our customers specifications for quality. Great Teammates master their skills in a fast-paced environment, yet never compromise on their quality of work.

The ideal candidate will have 2 + years of experience in fusion splicing fiber optic cable, splice audit verifications, and OTDR and power meter testing.

Duties

1. 1. Splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cable including single mode, multimode, loose tube and ribbon.

Job Qualifications

1. 1. Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
2. 2. Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical fields and demonstrate the ability to supervise others.
3. 3. Working knowledge of using various fusion splicing and optical testing equipment including, Alcoa Fujikura, GN Net Test, EXFO, Fitel, and Sumitomo.
4. 4. Must possess the knowledge to identify and understand the difference between Multi-mode and
5. 5. Ability to work with others and work independently.
6. 6. Must have utility pole/manhole awareness - bucket truck training and confined space training moves to the front of the line.
7. 7. Ability to work in confined spaces.
