Job summary

Kinetic, a business unit of Uniti, seeks a Buried Drop Technician to install buried copper, fiber, and coaxial drop cables from the hub to customer residences. Travel overnight may be required based on business needs.

The role emphasizes customer-focused service, accurate paperwork, and promotion of Kinetic products. This safety-sensitive position requires physical stamina and the ability to operate in varying field conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk 1/2 mile+ while operating a drop plow.
• Able to work the schedule including overtime, callouts, and standby as needed.
• Basic technology and math skills.
• Must distinguish colors in color-coded cabling.
• Must lift/carry up to 70 pounds.
• Must complete required training including overnight travel out-of-state.
• Driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Pass pre-employment DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber & coaxial drop cable to connect Kinetic’s network to customers’ residences.
• Use technical expertise and customer focus to build meaningful connections with customers.
• Interpret work drawings and instructions and complete paperwork.
• Sell and promote Kinetic products and services.
• Train new employees on daily job functions.
• Operate hand-held computer to retrieve/clear tasks.
• Conduct locates on underground facilities when applicable.
