Job summary

Ravago Americas in Baytown, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on main production lines and electrical/instrumentation panels. You will troubleshoot issues, maintain conveyors and gearmotors, and execute repairs while following safety protocols.

The role requires CMMS familiarity, experience with high voltage work, and ability to work in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Familiar with CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production lines and equipment.
  • Execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis during maintenance.
  • Maintain production lines’ main components (conveyors, gearmotors, valves, etc.).
  • Overhaul equipment, perform replacements, alignments, and calibrations.
  • Open, update and close Work Orders in CMMS.
  • Communicate maintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Maintain safe, clean work environment and adhere to OSHA standards.
  • Work in warehouse setting with varying temperatures and PPE.
  • Operate company vehicle as needed.
  • Read/write English and basic math.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement.

Job description

Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on main production lines. Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains electrical and instrumentation equipment and panels in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specif ications .

Areas of Responsibility / Task

Performance must reflect an appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below .

Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production lines and equipment .

Execute troubleshooting and root cause analysis during corrective maintenance on main production lines and equipment.

Maintain production lines’ main components, like conveyors, rollers, gearmotors, chains, pneumatic components, valves and oth er related electrical, automation and mechanical equipment.

Perform overhaul of equipment, components of replacement, alignments, and calibration to specifications.

Open, update and close assigned Work Orders utilizing CMMS ( MPulse ).

Identify , address, and notify Maintenance Supervisor or Manager about any maintenance related deviation or requirement from internal customers (i.e.: Production Department, Safety Department, etc.).

Maintain communication among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Provide solutions and corrective/preventative actions on problems/troubleshooting.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Commit to OCS Blue & OSHA Safety facility Standard.

Any other maintenance related task assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.

Competencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA)

To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. The requirements listed below are representative of observable behaviors and essential knowledge, skill, and abilities required of a successful incumbent within our culture .

Experience working on FFS packing lines- Required

Knowledge and use of basic hand tools, I&E equipment (Multimeter, Meggers, etc.).

Knowledge of safety regulations, energy isolation, lockout, JSAs, and line breaking procedures.

Ability to work on high voltage and to work near exposed energized electrical lines.

Mechanical maintenance knowledge is a plus.

Ability to drive a company vehicle to perform duties.

Unique ability to work in and contribute to a high performance, team-based work culture.

Able to read, write and comprehend English as well as basic math skills.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

1. Education:

a. High School diploma or GED.

2. Systems Experience:

F amiliar with CMMS systems.

Licenses

Valid Driver’s license

Required Tools

The employee must own and keep on hand the following tools/equipment: (minimum required ) Industrial Multimeter (AC/DC Volt, Amp, Ohm, etc.)

Clamp Meter

Temperature laser gun (optional but recommended)

Basic electrical related work tools like:

Stripping/crimping combination tool

Cable cutter o Utility knife

Flat blade screwdriver (Various size) o Phillips screwdriver (Various sizes)

Screw holding screwdriver 3/16-Inch by 6-Inch (optional but recommended) o Adjustable wrench set o Allen wrench set o 25-Feet tape measure o 18- Ounce Electrician’s hammer

Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience, and therefore must be adaptable to work in a shared space , with/or without the use of a private office .

This job primarily operates in a warehouse setting but may need to work outside, so must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon the season .

May be exposed to operations hazards including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water, and electrical hazards.

Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.

Frequently lift up to 55 lbs. and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time. (Will be required to use ladders or stairs) .

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Requires close visual observation to detect process non-conformance and machine malfunction.

A variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day

Ability to adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot and stand for long periods of time.

Occasional climbing of ladders

Use of basic warehouse equipment and hand tools
