Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a proactive Operations Supervisor in Tennessee to oversee safety, productivity, and staffing for a distribution center.

The role involves enforcing safe work practices, coordinating daily workload, and driving continuous improvement with cross-functional teams. The incumbent will mentor associates, handle incident reporting, and collaborate with HR and leadership to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field, OR 4 years of DC/warehouse ops experience.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
  • Proven record of complying with safety requirements.
  • Experience building a culture of safety among subordinates and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety practices through observations and safety discussions.
  • Identify and resolve safety issues on the floor and escalate as needed.
  • Determine daily workload for the department.
  • Monitor inventory flow and expedite priority product shipping.
  • Train associates and document proficiency in equipment handling.
  • Complete incident reports for damages, near misses, injuries, and equipment incidents.
  • Identify and lead process improvements from SSC.
  • Monitor productivity and drive continuous improvement through coaching.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Lead shift briefings and turnover documentation.
  • Foster engagement and inclusion in the work environment.

Job description

  • Ensures all associates comprehend and execute safe work practices by performing regular safety observations and having regular safety discussions
  • Identifies and resolves safety issues on the floor and notifies the appropriate party for resolution
  • Addresses safety issues or trends escalated from associates
  • Determines the daily workload (production volume) for department as established by the facility
  • Monitors the flow of inventory in the facility frequently throughout the day
  • Expedites receiving, picking and shipping of priority product to internal and external customers
  • Research and resolve pick and ship reported errors and initiate efforts to prevent reoccurrence by addressing the root cause
  • Train associates on equipment, documenting proficiency and directing resolution to equipment issues
  • Completes all incident reports for in-house product damage, near misses and injuries, and equipment incidents completing accident reports for associate injuries
  • Identifies and assists in implementing process improvements or new processes launched from SSC
  • Identifies and takes action on needs for efficient operations, safety issues, and bottlenecks
  • Monitors staffing needs for department/shift and adjusts work to be accomplished on the shift according to available resources and skillsets
  • Conducts shift briefing and prepares shift turnover documentation
  • Communicates effectively with associates regarding business objectives or current issues
  • Monitors individual and team productivity and drive continuous productivity improvement through process enhancements and one on one coaching
  • Approves off standard hours for associates ensuring accurate accounting of performance for work team
  • Sets goals and communicates clear expectations for associates providing timely and constructive feedback
  • Provides associates with meaningful developmental opportunities and prepares them for upward promotion as applicable
  • Works with associates to build a work environment of engagement and inclusion
  • Participates in the process of hiring talented individuals for the team, submitting, requisitions, interviewing, and assisting HR in the hiring process
  • Train new hires and existing employees on processes and procedures as applicable
  • Discusses and resolves conflicts between associates
  • Sponsors and leads associates through change
  • Responds to incidents or injuries and ensures first aid response takes place as needed
  • Collaborates with the other operational shifts to ensure consistent processes and expectations

Schedule

Monday- Friday 6pm- 3:30am
