Job summary

Probity in Chantilly, VA is seeking an AWS Systems-Security Administrator to manage and secure cloud-based servers. The role focuses on CDS development lifecycle, change control, configuration management, access control, and security monitoring to ensure high uptime and robust defense against threats.

The candidate will work with Linux systems (Red Hat/Rocky) in Amazon Web Services, participate in incident response, and document deployment procedures and guides for ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• Experience building physical and virtual servers and coordinating baseline deployments.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux and/or Rocky Linux.
• Experience with AWS cloud environment.
• Experience performing IT infrastructure maintenance, patching, deployment, and configuration using automation tools.
• Experience in uptime critical environments and communicating with customers and collaborating with other teams.
• Experience implementing baseline changes and handling change requests.
• Experience evaluating and troubleshooting services including server hardware.
• Experience documenting deployment checklists, admin guides, and verification procedures.
• Familiar with Intelligence Community security controls.
• Experience reviewing security logs during incidents, anomalies, or audits.

Job Description:

The AWS Systems/Security Administrator encompasses server administration in an Amazon Web Services existing Cross Domain System (CDS). Activities will be concentrated on aspects of the product development life cycle that are consistent with implementing and supporting existing and new capabilities to improve data processing methods and ensure highest levels of system security. The role will also include change control and configuration management, access control management, security monitoring and auditing, and operational support of CDS guards specific to the cloud service provider.

Required Skills:

• Experience building physical and virtual servers, implementing/developing configurations, testing, deploying, and coordinating baseline deployments, including coordinating the installation and maintenance of equipment hosted in a server room
• Demonstrated on the job experience with Red Hat Linux and/or Rocky Linux
• Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services cloud computing environment
• Experience performing standard IT infrastructure maintenance tasks, including patching, deployment, and configuration utilizing automation tools.
• Experience working in a demanding critical uptime environment, including communicating with internal and external customers and working with other engineering groups to maintain uptime.
• Experience implementing baseline changes and responding to change requests to support customer needs
• Experience performing technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for supported services, including server hardware.
• Demonstrated on the job experience developing and maintaining technical documentation to include, but not limited to, deployment checklists, administrator’s guides, and deployment verification procedures.
• Working familiarity with the Intelligence Community security controls
• Experience in reviewing security logs during incidents, anomalies, or audits

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with emerging trends, tools, and technologies that may be used to improve sponsor systems and methodologies
• Willing to respond on-call if needed on a rotation basis

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Technology, or similar
