Job summary

Penn State University is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Fencing program. The role involves assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the Men’s and Women’s fencing teams, including recruiting, coaching, developing, motivating, and evaluating student athletes to academic and athletic standards in line with NCAA and Penn State policies.

The position requires collaboration with university staff, alumni relations, and community outreach, with a focus on compliance and achievement within Division

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Division I coaching or playing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NCAA, Big Ten and Penn State policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in all aspects of the Men's and Women's Fencing program.
• Recruit, coach, develop, motivate, and evaluate academically and athletically qualified student athletes in compliance with NCAA, Big Ten, and Penn State policies.
• Ensure compliance with administrative processes related to team travel, recruiting travel, budget, and student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.
• Engage in alumni relations, fundraising and community service activities as assigned.
• Coordinate with Communications staff to provide information to media outlets and prepare related materials.
